This 17' runabout, built in 1950, has been rebuilt to a certain extent. The bottom has been replaced, the engine rebuilt. The current work mostly involved replacing the planking screws in the topsides. They were either corroded or broken. The planking itself wasn't too bad although a few patches were installed at the butts.
The transom area was a bit soft as you can see.
We replaced some of the transom framing and scarphed in repairs to the aft ends of the engine stringers.
New transom planking had to be steam bent over a form.
It all came out quite nice.
Topsides all varnished. White and red yet to be done.
